Stop climbing to the terrace to check the tank. A sensor on the overhead tank tells the controller when the water is low, and the pump fills the tank and switches off before it overflows. With the Solar kits there is no wiring at the tank at all, and the live level in the mobile app makes it a wireless water level indicator as well as an automatic motor on/off controller.

The overhead tank is usually two or three floors from the pump. A float switch or a probe on a long cable has to be wired down the building, and it is the cable that fails first in the sun and rain.

Fit a level sensor on the overhead tank and a controller on the pump. When the tank drops to the level you set, the controller starts the pump; when it reaches full, the pump stops. Nobody has to switch it on or climb up to check.
Not with the Solar kits: a solar panel with battery backup powers the radar sensor, so there is no wiring at the tank. The USB kits run from an adapter and suit tanks with a power socket nearby.

No. The radar sensor sits above the water and measures the gap to the surface, so there is nothing in the tank to rust, scale up or get stuck.
The tank still fills and stops. The decision is made on the controller at your home; the internet is only needed for the live view and alerts on your phone.
