A cold storage in Coimbatore has run its freezers on Nexomatic since July 2026. The installation is 10 devices: each freezer sits on its own Smart Breaker + Energy Meter, and a Floor Hub on site runs the compressor schedule. The owner sees every freezer's live power on the phone and gets an alert when something goes wrong.
The customer asked us not to publish their name, so we describe the site rather than the business.
What the site needed
A cold storage lives or dies by its compressors. The owner wanted three things:
- See each freezer separately. One meter for the whole shop says the bill went up. It does not say which freezer is responsible.
- Control the compressors without someone standing there. Switch a unit on or off from the phone, and let a schedule handle the routine.
- Hear about a problem straight away. A freezer that loses power, or one that runs and never stops, needs attention the same day, not when the stock is already soft.

Ten devices in all. The breakers fit in the existing distribution board, so the freezers themselves were not modified.
How the control works
The schedule runs on the hub at the site, not in the cloud. If the internet goes down, the freezers keep following their schedule; the app catches up when the connection returns.
Each freezer runs in cycles, with safeguards on both sides:
- A minimum rest between runs, so a compressor is never started again seconds after it stopped. Rapid restarts are what wear a compressor out.
- A maximum rest, so a freezer is never left off for too long, whatever the schedule says.
- Ending a run on the compressor's own reading. As a freezer reaches temperature its compressor draws less power. The hub watches each run's power against how that same run started and ends it when the freezer is close to done, instead of on a fixed timer.
Any freezer can be put on manual hold from the app. A held freezer stays exactly as the owner left it, on or off, until the hold is released.
What the owner sees
Each freezer has its own tile in the app with its live power, whether the compressor is running now, and how much of the day it has run. A freezer that suddenly runs much longer than usual stands out next to its neighbours, which is often the first sign of a door seal or gas problem.
Alerts arrive as phone notifications, once when a problem starts and again when it clears:
- No power: a freezer that should be running is drawing nothing.
- Running nonstop: a compressor has run for hours without a break.
- No data: the site has stopped reporting.
